Cable Broadcasting / Cable Television
Cable television nowadays can also be used to provide broadband internet services and other ICT applications. The installation, maintenance and exploitation of transmitter and receiving equipment for the purpose of cable broadcasting (cable television) requires an authorization.
The authorization facilitates the provision of pay-tv services to connected subscribers. As with Open air television, aside from an authorization the authorization holder for cable broadcasting also needs a license to broadcast programmes and other messages on cable television.
The license includes the conditions and regulations that apply regarding the content of programmes and other communication on the respective cable broadcasting network. The general rules and regulations on the exploitation of a tv broadcasting network are established in the Ordinance for Television (P.B. 1971, no. 33).
