Oranjestad/Willemstad, 6 oktober 2025 – The Aruba Fair Trade Authority (AFTA) en de Regulatory Authority of Curaçao (RAC) have signed a cooperation protocol to join forces in supervising the electricity and water supply sectors.
Through this protocol, both regulators have agreed to strengthen their collaboration by sharing knowledge, information, and expertise. The agreement also includes arrangements for joint training sessions, staff exchanges, and regular consultation meetings. The aim is to enhance the quality and effectiveness of supervision in both countries.
“By sharing our experiences and supporting each other, we can respond more effectively to the challenges within the energy and utilities sectors,” said Curt Belfor, CEO of RAC.
Drs. Roly Sint Jago, Chair of the Board of Organization, also emphasized the importance of this collaboration: “This agreement gives us the opportunity to learn from one another and to build together a stable and transparent regulatory framework for Aruba en Curaçao.”
The cooperation agreement aligns with the broader ambition of both authorities to promote regional collaboration and thereby contribute to sustainable economic development within the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.
