Bureau Telecommunicatie & Post (BT&P) welcomed its new director, mr. Franklin Sluis, on January 20th, 2016. On this day BT&P also celebrated its 20-year anniversary and took a retrospective view on 20 years of regulatory services rendered by BT&P.
As of February 1st, 2016 mr. Sluis officially took up his position as director of BT&P.
Mrs. Charluce Sandries will continue to officiate in her function of deputy director of BT&P.
Prior to BT&P mr. Sluis offciated as managing director of Cpost International N.V. During his career of an ample 40 years, he gained sound experience, among other things in the field of management, finances, and policy at various organizations, including Customs, BAB, the Ministry of VV&RP and BT&P.
Mr. Sluis is a certified public accountant (CPA) and has completed MBA with a PhD in Business Administration with as thesis for his doctoral dissertation: The liberalization of the fixed telecommunication network. On this he also conducted benchmark research.
Under the guidance of its new director, BT&P will continue to work on development and innovation of the six sectors on which it exercises supervision, to wit: telecommunication, post, energy (fuels, electricity and water) and the tariffs at the airport.
