From 7 to 10 May 2018, upon invitation of the Ministry of Economic Development of Curaçao, Bureau Telecommunicatie & Post, will be part of the Dutch delegation of Smart City advocates that will attend the renowned Smart Cities conference in New York (SCNY) on an innovation mission.

Smart Cities Conference New York (SCNY) is North America’s leading global conference to address critical solution-based issues that cities are facing as we move into the 21st century. The conference theme, “Powered by People”, brings together top thought leaders and senior members of the worldwide private and public sector to discuss investments in physical and digital Infrastructure, health, education, sustainability, security and workforce development & mobility, to safeguard a proper quality of life for all citizens as the world progresses towards the 4th Industrial Revolution.
The innovation mission
By initiative of the Dutch General Consulate in New York in collaboration with RVO (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland), Trade & Innovate NL and the Ministry of Economic Development of Curaçao, Bureau Telecommunicatie & Post, together with 45 other participants representing the Dutch Kingdom, will embark on a 4 day mission to gather knowledge, inspiration and guidance through presented best practices and tactical solutions on smart nation issues. Members of the delegation representing Curaçao will be led by the Ministry of Economic Development.
This conference offers an excellent opportunity to explore new collaboration opportunities, strengthen existing partnerships and gather the tools to further solidify strategies to bridge the gap between public and private sectors towards a unified Curaçao Small Smart and Safe Nation (CSSSN)-advocacy platform, as part of the BT&P initiative to help transform Curaçao into a front runner in the region regarding technology and innovation for the benefit of all citizens.
Upcoming CSSSN platform strategic gathering
Prior to the conference and in anticipation of further steps to follow later this year as part of the CSSSN initiative, BT&P will organize its 5th general meeting with CSSSN-platform members next 4th May to set forth the path to further lay the foundation for the plan of action that will contribute to putting Curaçao on the right path to a resource-efficient and sustainable digital economy.
