Over recent years, the Regulatory Authority of Curaçao (the RAC) has laid a solid foundation for service evolvement aimed at regulation that ensures that the citizens of our country Curaçao can confidently be assured of fair, transparent regulation for a thriving nation that can partake in global developments. The transformation consists of far more than rebranding. We have undergone a trajectory to fundamentally transform and fortify our repositioned role as the country’s regulatory authority, both presently and as we move forward into the future. Herein we remain focused on our mission to provide impartial and effective regulation that promotes fair and sustainable markets, and safeguards consumer right playing field for our country’s citizens.

The RAC is carried by passionate experts and professionals that proudly embody our core values. We are characterized by our Integrity, our Professionalism and our sense of Collaboration, and thus throughout the years have been entrusted to evolve from a Regulator’s role dedicated solely to the post and telecom sector, to a present-day role overseeing a broader field of sectors which includes Aviation, Utilities, Caricert, Health Care and the Innovation box. Our vast experience and unbiased investigatory activities instill great trust within the community as well as the country’s government and the regulated sectors.

All our efforts are executed while being focused on the consumer as well as the (service) provider that is regulated by us. The RAC ensures a balance between the consumer’s right to access the products and services it demands and needs, whilst safeguarding the longevity and sustainability of the provider’s business and activities. To achieve this balance, the RAC, through its role as the independent transparent authority, assists with the development of the necessary legal structures, legislation and strategies within which it can efficiently operate and regulate in a consistent manner.

The RAC also has a social responsibility towards the community to inspire confidence, mainly by ensuring that citizens are continuously well-informed, protected and ensured of access to the agreed upon standard of quality services offered through the regulated sectors. Citizens need to be able to rely on services that are trustworthy and sustainable. The RAC pro-actively and consistently communicates with citizens to enhance the overall knowledge and to enable all to become prepared for either short-term or long-term developments that enhance or affect daily processes. In addition, the RAC provides a culture of trustworthiness and consistency to aid providers with clear and transparent frameworks and parameters through which development, innovation and sustainability can be ensured.

My drive as the CEO of the RAC is intertwined with the purpose of the RAC. I am committed to the betterment of Curaçao.
Curaçao might be a small island, but we are part of major global developments. While we celebrate each united step forward, we as the RAC, will continue to champion our commitment to contribute to a continuously thriving Curaçao.
